One of the process and methods that I had to go through just to get this whole assignment completed was to learn how HTML works and how to link the blog to the website. Another process I had to endure was to create my own blog as I did not have one before.
The technologies/tools I learned and used during this assignment was basically the Internet and the coding and decoding of HTML. The disadvantages was that the coding/decoding of HTML is that it is difficult to understand and apply. Using the Internet to get information on my assignment was an advantage for me because it provided me with a lot of information and procedures on how to apply the format of HTML in my links. The resources on my Internet helped me with my research.
The experience I encountered in debugging the HTML codes to get the output I want was that it was really confusing and complicated. Looking at how others did it was simple, but when I tried it myself, I encountered trials and errors. The picture I uploaded on my website could not be displayed due to technical error and that was a disadvantage for me in this assignment.
I however did not encounter any difficulties in choosing a suitable web server because my partner had already chosen this server for the both of us. Therefore, this was an easy task for me. Due to the connection of the Internet, it took me a very long time to upload the files to the web server. I even had to try several times because the Internet would be hanging at times.
When i started this project, I did not have my own blog. So with the help of my friend, I learned how to create one and even learned how to post blogs on it. This was an easy task for me as I had help given to me on-hand.
Overall, I did learn sum basics of using Notepad and also the basics of Internet-related technologies and some handy skills in Web applications. I also learned how to create a blog and use one. I also learned how to read codes in HTML format. Another lesson that I learned was on how to upload the files to the server. Completing this assignment has taught me how to choose the correct web server.
If I am going to work on this assignment again, I would improve on the creativity of this assignment. I would definitely design the blog and maybe try to upload more pictures or a video. If given another chance, I will try to do more research on this project so that it will help me to understand better on this assignment, especially in the aspect real life website design. I would have also gotten more help from my friends who are better equipped in HTML, so that before I start my project, I will not encounter any technical difficulties.
